Dr Pawel Waryszak
Pawel is the Principal Scientist at Redleaf Group, bringing 20 years of expertise in ecological restoration, biodiversity research, and environmental assessment. He has led significant ecological programs across Queensland, specialising in flora and fauna surveys, species management planning, and high-risk impact assessments.
With a PhD from Murdoch University and international experience in wetland and coastal ecology, Pawel blends scientific depth with pragmatic field experience. His project work spans environmental impact assessments, recovery of EPBC-listed Banksia woodlands, restoration plans for Wallum Froglet habitat, and surveys for the Condamine Earless Dragon. Pawel is also an Adjunct at the University of Southern Queensland and a member of the Extreme Plant Ecology Research Team.
His academic career includes research roles at Deakin, Curtin, and Tulane Universities, with a focus on wetland rehabilitation, blue carbon, biogeochemical processes, and vegetation resilience. His work has been published in leading journals including Nature Communications Earth & Environment, Restoration Ecology, and Global Change Biology.
